Lunch with Carolyn at Burnt Orange

A boutique cafe and retail operation located in the historic golf clubhouse on Middle Head Peninsula. The Burnt Orange concept emanates from Irish company Avoca, widely recognised as one of Europe's most stylish retailers and purveyors of fine foods. The boutique cafe and store lends itself to a relaxed visit, browsing through homewares, fashion and gifts in various rooms of the house before a delicious breakfast, lunch or afternoon tea in the cafe.
A lovely old building and the combination of bushland and harbour views is spectacular. The menu has something for most palates.

Of course if it is cold and windy you will certainly need the brown & white blankets they have at the ready for patrons.   When Carolyn & I were there it was a 2 blanket occasion although they had heaters & in the shoping area was nice and cosy I feel it is a good weather place to visit.

Eating is on the verandah which is spacious

Carolyn ordered the Oarganic beef burger, in crusty bap with tomato & chutney & horserasish mayonnaise served with home maed chips.  I had a strong tasting fish pie topped with mash potato,

Nicly appointed large dinning area that quickly becomes noisy as restaurant fills.
.

Pumpkin, goat's cheese & walnut tart with spiky green salad and other good dishes Beetroot risotto with candied walnuts.

The shop had lots of lovely & over priced goods to select from, homewares, childrenwear, womens wear, gifts and kitchen wear.

The restaurant offers a series of seasonal dishes and the view is filtered through trees of the harbour, unique position

Paid parking is offered. The best thing is the view & location

Great location, nice food but not great food.
